Comprehensive safety inspection covering all MTO-required components.
We inspect brake pads, rotors, drums, lines, and parking brakes for adequate stopping performance. Tire tread depth and condition are measured to ensure road safety.
Worn steering and suspension components affect vehicle control. We check all steering linkages, ball joints, tie rods, shocks, and struts.
All exterior lighting must function properly for a safety certificate. We test headlights, brake lights, turn signals, hazards, and instrument cluster warning lights.
The vehicle body must be free of dangerous damage, rust-through, or structural compromise. We inspect body panels, frame, floor, and windshield.
A properly functioning exhaust system prevents harmful gases from entering the cabin and minimizes environmental impact.
We check the remainder of safety-critical systems including transmission, drive axles, fuel system, and seatbelts.
As a certified MVIS station, we proudly provide proper, lawful safety inspections for buyers and sellers in Stewarttown, Glen Williams, and Silver Creek. We also welcome customers from rural areas including Erin, Rockwood, and Terra Cotta.
An Ontario Safety Standards Certificate is valid for 36 days from the date of the inspection. If you do not register the vehicle or transfer ownership within this period, you will need to pay for a new inspection.
No. A safety certificate simply proves the vehicle met the minimum safety standards set by the MTO on the exact day of the inspection. It is not a warranty or a guarantee of the engine or transmission's long-term health. We highly recommend a separate pre-purchase inspection if you are buying a used car.
If your vehicle fails, you will receive an inspection report outlining the necessary repairs. You can have the repairs done at our shop or elsewhere. If you return to our station within 10 days for a re-inspection of the repaired items, there is usually no additional inspection fee.
